Emptying The Heavens
Text:- 1 Kings 18:41-45
Can there be a man that will empty the heavens? This was the question that the Lord asked me when I encountered the light in this scripture and to me, it is a challenge and so it is to my generation.
“And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. (1 Kings 18:41 KJV).
Elijah prophesied drought upon the land and when the time was fulfilled to bring rain, he prayed for the rain to come.
What is Rain? Rain could be a symbol of God’s pleasure with a land. It also means productivity and as a matter of fact, rain is a major condition for the prosperity of a nation’s economy.
The blessings of God are so inexhaustible that He is calling us to come and access as much as we can and even teach many people how to gain the same or even better access to His abundance. Elijah did not just predict rain, he literarily prophesied abundance upon Israel.
How can you begin to access this abundance too?
These are some of the things you know but haven’t just brought yourself to do or be faithful with.
Your first connection to God’s abundance is your TITHE. Tithing is not a priestly scheme, it is an instruction. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10 KJV).
The second is your giving. You can never step into God’s abundance by following the earthly principle of savings and investment. Get this! Jesus said give and it shall be given unto you. He didn’t say receive and give.
In the kingdom, you have to give first before you can receive. There is he that scatters yet increases, there is he that withholds yet tends to poverty. Never wait until you have before you can give out, if you cannot give now, it’s proof that you will not give when you are eventually blessed.
The third is your service to God. This is when the loyalty of man to the Lord is tested. Father Abraham did not step into the reality of God’s covenant for his life until he walked with God to the point that he could sacrifice his only son at God’s command.
If you cannot serve God wholeheartedly, I’m afraid the realities of his covenanted blessings cannot be fulfilled in your life.
Conclusion
Be faithful in paying your tithes, give in love from the little you have and be intentional in building your relationship with the Holy Spirit so that he can reveal to you the mysteries of releasing massive kingdom wealth and prosperity. The blessings of the Kingdom are too much, 7 Billion people are far too small to exhaust it.
