Habakkuk 2:2-3
Then the LORD answered me: “Write down this vision and clearly inscribe it on tablets, so that a herald may run with it. For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay
The truth is, we live in a world where we can easily be lost in our thoughts and many times we don’t know what we should really be doing in a season(new year, month). So, we might just end up setting random plans for ourselves so it doesn’t look like we are not serious or idle. Sometimes, you might even think you know what to do or sure of what you need to do for the year. But just as the book of Proverbs 14:12 says, “there is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is destruction”.
For instance, in our own certainty, we might be focusing on wht we want instead of focusing on what we need and at the same time the will of God for us for the year. Imagine focusing your attention on getting a job which is a good idea but what if what you need is to further your education to be able to secure for yourself a sustainable job or even start a business of your own. You can’t really be sure if that next step or plan is the right one or will be something sustainable. But there is something you can also be sure of which is the Word and plan of God for your life (Psalm 138:2). It is ever sure and it will surely accomplish that which it is said to do (Isaiah 55:11). So, you can rationalize that plan all you want and justify the path of uncertainty you have chosen, but if it is not vetted by God as the right plan or path, you’ll find out in the end that you took the road to destruction if you don’t follow Him(God) that knows the right path and plan for your life this season(Proverbs 3:5-6).
Let’s take out time today. A single moment to ask God what is the plan for the year will sure put you on a flight list for success. Just as Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, Then the LORD answered me: “Write down this vision and clearly inscribe it on tablets, so that you may run with it. For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
So, write down what the Lord is revealing to you, not what you think you know or should be doing. Even though you think you know the right path to take, still go before God to vet that path for you. There are lots of uncertainties running through our minds and It is only God that knows the perfect way for us and how to achieve all that we are meant to achieve at its appointed time. So, seek God to show you the perfect way and so He might lead you in the right path. He is the one that knows the end from the beginning and He is the one that can reveal to you that exact thing(s) you need to do even as you start this new year so that you can take flight(gain speed) in all you do and so that your light may shine among men and kings.
