Power of Attorney

Text: Mark 16:17, John 16:23

The power of attorney is a legal term, which means the authorization to act on another person’s behalf or to stand in place of another person.

This is one of the inheritances for all believers in Christ. You don’t need to work for it, or labor or ask for it. It has already been given through Jesus.

Jesus gave this to us when he gave us the right to use His name. We inherited it – we have the power of attorney to act on behalf of Him.
In John 16:23, Jesus said to His disciples “At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything, I tell you the truth, you will ask the father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name”.

Jesus is telling His disciples that just by using His name when going to God in prayer, He will respond, not because of you, but because you used the name of Jesus.

Also, in the book of Mark 16:17, Jesus said “ these miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: they will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages”.

Note this: it is only for those who believe, those who live in the kingdom of light, the true Christians.

The power of attorney has given Christians the authority to do anything Jesus did on earth. The power of attorney has made it such that you don’t have to travel to heaven to tell Jesus what you need help with, the authority is right there in your mouth. All you have to do is to speak it by faith.

In the name of Jesus, you will cast out demons, in the name of Jesus you will heal the sick and they will be healed. You will handle snakes in safety, if you drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt you. The Lord has given you the authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and they shall by no means hurt you. For that is your inheritance in Christ. Hallelujah.
