The Human Condition (The old order and the new older Pt. 3)

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5:17AMP

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].”

Apostle Paul Speaking in Romans 7:15 (AMP) when he was still living in the flesh (his old sinful ways) says,

”For I do not understand my actions [I am baffled and bewildered by them]. I do not practice what I want to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate [and yielding to my human nature, my worldliness—my sinful capacity]”.

Yes, you can’t help yourself by trying to be good by your ability or just thinking of it to stop. It is true many are regrettably sorry whenever they try so much to do the right thing but ended up doing the wrong thing. While some have fully embraced that old sinful way of living within them even when the (light) new way of living (Christ’s way) is right in front of them.

“So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2 TPT).

The answer to ending this sinful and immoral human condition (nature or limitations) is in finding and allowing our moral compass (The spirit and divine nature of God) to take charge of our lives so He can change our nature (mindset) into that of a new creature (spiritually minded person) who doesn’t need to live by the old order of the flesh (sinful nature). We can achieve this through our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior who can help us live that life of holiness and righteousness [new order of the spirit (Galatians 5:16-17)]

When I think about all the immoralities in the world today, I wonder how long will it last or when will it end. I know you may be thinking we live in a world where God’s grace is available in abundance and God is so merciful and because of this belief, many are riding carelessly on that grace, and justifying their immoral actions.

But, even the scripture leaves us with a cautionary question — “how long shall we continue in sin, and all these sexual immoralities because grace is abundantly available? (Romans 5:20)

Conclusion

Do you think God wasn’t patient with the people of Sodom and Gomorrah before he decided to wipe them off the surface of the earth because of their constant and unwilling desire to change their immortal ways? (Genesis 13:13, 18:20).

But God decided to save one man (Lot) and his family because of their brightness (Genesis 19:16-21).

God will always be gracious to as many who accept and choose to follow his way of holiness and righteousness no matter the circumstances.

The question is, will you be among them?
