Text: Colossians 2:8-15. (Emphasis 11-13)

“In Him, you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses.”

Remember in John 14:6 Jesus established the fact that he is the only way to the Father. Having salvation and walking in faith can only be accessible through Jesus Christ.

From our main text which I will plead we read all verses, there are Three very significant parts of Jesus’ life we need to understand;

  1. The death: dying to the flesh and sin
  2. The burial: buried with him in baptism, putting away all the works of the flesh (sin).
  3. His resurrection: we were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God. Living a life above sin which has been killed and buried.

Apostle Paul in Galatians 2:20 summed it up thus. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

With this, we are guaranteed a place with Him in His glorious kingdom with the Father. This is the Christian faith, without which we would have been of all, the most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15:19.
