Text: Isaiah 62:6 NKJV.
“I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent”.
A watchman keeps guard over a place either day or night or both. We are watchmen, and as watchmen, we ought to be vigilant and take charge of situations.
We are where we are now because we have failed to keep watch. Ezekiel 22:30 — “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” We are failing in our duty and are being carried away with activities; we have failed to heed the call.
I sought for a man to stand in the gap but I found none. Should that be said of us? Arise o sleeping giant, arise and keep watch! 1 Timothy 2:1 says “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.” The nation needs prayers, families need prayers, and the people need prayers. Who will stand in the gap?
It is a call to a greater responsibility — interceding on behalf of someone is a great responsibility that we have neglected for so long. Our messages can not make an impact if we do not commit the minds of the readers and listeners to God, the godly nation and generation we want can not come to pass if we do not pray it forth.
Doing this means seeking first His kingdom, and after doing this all other things (wealth, health, prosperity, etc shall be added to us).
Prayer: Lord help me to stand in my office as a watchman.
