Text: 2 Corinthians 11:14 – “But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”

The aim to strive for spiritual enlightenment is not just to know the things of God but also to be able to know which is the true will of God is.

The devil is also smart and he has blinded many with what seems to be the truth and has caused many to fall by his schemes (2 Corinthians 4:4).

For you to stand out and to be able to withstand and unravel the true intent or schemes of the devil you must have the ability to discern correctly.

Spiritual discernment is an essential quality for anyone and everyone. It requires us to develop a heightened sense of awareness and intuition as we navigate the unseen world. The ability to differentiate between truth, light and dark, and good and evil lies at the center of spiritual discernment.

Spiritual discernment Is not solely about intellectual understanding, but it demands our ability to listen to our inner voice (the Holy Spirit), attune ourselves to a divine source, and align with our deepest values

It provides us with insight into situations that may seem mysterious or complex. Without it, we would be lost in the depths of life’s challenges that call for a greater measure than what our eyes can see or ears can hear.

To sharpen our ability to discern correctly, we need to develop unwavering faith in God and know the will of God in all situations (Proverbs 3:5-6) while remaining grounded in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Just as 1 Peter 5:8 says “Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

So yes, be focused and alert, do not be carried away by what you are seeing or what you think you know but attune your ears and eyes to the holy spirit who can see and hear through any deceptive schemes so we can navigate both the seen and the unseen world and know what the will of God is in all that we do.
